30–40% of visible light across all frequencies is transmitted through the duraweb® pollination mesh. This level of controlled light transmission supports plant health while maintaining effective containment.
What is the pore size of duraweb® mesh?
The average pore size is approximately 10 microns, making it suitable for pollen containment, insect exclusion and controlled pollination applications. The 10-micron mesh specification also allows airflow while maintaining structural integrity.
Can you manufacture custom pollination bags or pollination tents?
Yes. By using our in-depth product design experience, we can work with you to develop a bespoke pollination bag or containment tent that fulfils your needs. Customisation may have cost implications depending on specification, size and order volume.
Are your pollination bags reusable?
Many customers do reuse our bags over several growing seasons. They can be sterilised or autoclaved where appropriate. We do not recommend reuse for abrasive or spiky plants such as oil palm, as this may compromise material integrity and containment performance.
Do you supply pollination bags internationally?
We provide a personal service and deal directly with customers worldwide, supplying research institutions, breeding programmes and commercial agriculture businesses. We also have distributors in Indonesia, Malaysia, Colombia.
