“The duraweb bags from PBS showed a much higher success rate than paper or glassine.”

“The duraweb bags from PBS showed a much higher success rate than paper or glassine.  I was certainly surprised at the differences.  Although the initial outlay of the other bags is much lower, paper and glassine aren’t economic when you take into account the total cost of the cross.  The cost of the bag is insignificant alongside the costs of glasshouse space, man hours, storage, consumables, selecting the plant for crossing etc.  I am sure if other breeders did their sums too they would see it’s of massive benefit to use the right materials for crossing.”
